Tuning Fork Healing

Tuning fork therapy is a sound-based healing practice that uses specially designed metal tuning forks to apply vibration and sound to the body for relaxation, pain relief, and nervous-system regulation.

The basic idea

The body responds to vibrational frequencies. When a tuning fork is activated (usually struck gently), it produces a steady tone and vibration.  These vibrations can help the body shift out of stress and into a more balanced state.

What happens in a session

  • You stay fully clothed, seated or lying down
  • The practitioner activates tuning forks and places them:
    • Near the ears
    • On specific points of the body (bones, joints, muscles)
    • Above the body in the surrounding space
  • The vibration is gentle, not painful

Common feelings during Tuning Fork Therapy

  • Deep relaxation
  • A calming or grounding sensation
  • Reduced muscle tension
  • Improved focus or mental clarity

Types of tuning fork therapy

  • Weighted tuning forks: placed on the body so vibration travels through tissues and bones
  • Unweighted tuning forks: used near the ears or energy points for auditory effects
