Tuning Fork Healing
Tuning fork therapy is a sound-based healing practice that uses specially designed metal tuning forks to apply vibration and sound to the body for relaxation, pain relief, and nervous-system regulation.
The basic idea
The body responds to vibrational frequencies. When a tuning fork is activated (usually struck gently), it produces a steady tone and vibration. These vibrations can help the body shift out of stress and into a more balanced state.
What happens in a session
- You stay fully clothed, seated or lying down
- The practitioner activates tuning forks and places them:
- Near the ears
- On specific points of the body (bones, joints, muscles)
- Above the body in the surrounding space
- The vibration is gentle, not painful
Common feelings during Tuning Fork Therapy
- Deep relaxation
- A calming or grounding sensation
- Reduced muscle tension
- Improved focus or mental clarity
Types of tuning fork therapy
- Weighted tuning forks: placed on the body so vibration travels through tissues and bones
- Unweighted tuning forks: used near the ears or energy points for auditory effects
How it’s used
- Stress and anxiety reduction
- Pain management
- Sleep support
- Meditation and mindfulness
